What a great performance from one of the true greats, in a mature moment of his career. Exquisite note choices, warm and heartful melodies and fantastic touch.

You can’t really use words to grasp the pursuit of a communion with the unlimited. The words themselves are the issue, not the speaker. It can’t be put into words, because it’s not conceptual - its just a spark, a flame, a wind, the dark, the sun, the ocean, etc. Satori. In that process music comes out but the music isn’t the point - the experience and freedom is the point… you prepare and then try to let the conditioning go… there is no method, no system, no path to follow… just attempting a personal complete truth… and prob failing a lot as a human condition - but sometimes touching the sun (this sounds like hipster bs but i actually mean it)

I've been a Pat Martino fan ever since I heard "The Visit" album over 50 years ago. One of the best, if not the best jazz guitar players ever. I saw him back in Philly in a local club in the early 70's and I was knocked out. Again in Detroit a few years ago at the Jazz Festival with this group and was knocked out again. Lord I miss this man! RIP Pat...

Absolutely killing!! The whole band was on it, kudos to Carmen Intorre Jr for a tour de force drum solo! Pat was digging it and gave those chord punches to egg him on until the high point of the head out with fabulous ensemble playing! So tight! Now that was really an ON night and the audience was feeling it too. Another well recorded clip. Hats off to whoever recorded it. [Were you there for this LeRoy?]

Crazy to hear Pat’s conception of such a familiar tune as Seven Come Eleven. Specially those added punch chords in the head. Pat would always do his own thing on standards. Thanks for posting these clips, the recording quality is pretty good for live performance!

Keep the organ stuff coming! PM is his usual great self. Bianchi is perhaps a tad more laid back than Don Patterson, but great nonetheless. Those guys amaze me by being able to walk the bassline with their feet while simultaneously pumping out the organ lines. Or it could be left hand bass, it's hard to tell sometimes.

Now yer talkin'! Love me some organ jazz! Pat really shines in this format. Fantastic!
